Alexis in ParisHi there, and welcome to my blog! Somehow, someone sent you a link to this page. Who are we kidding though – most likely that someone was me. Then again, I am hoping that one day perhaps this blog might interest a few more people than just my close family and friends and that word will spread. So let’s just pretend that we don’t know each other yet, and let me go on and blab a bit about myself.

My name is Alexis Thomas and I make a living as a business and technology consultant in Nicosia, Cyprus. Aside from my obvious passion for technology, I’ve always had an interest in photography. Over the last few years however and after I finally got myself around purchasing a new digital SLR, photography has transformed from being simply my hobby, into a creative outlet and an escape from the rigors of everyday life. Most of us (including myself) are consumed by the routine in our life, and hardly ever dedicate enough time in the things we really love and enjoy. Which is why I have decided to start this blog; perhaps as a way in which I can pressure myself into dedicating more time in something that I really care about and enjoy.

Which brings me to my disclaimer…I am by no means a professional photographer and I don’t claim to be one either. Let’s just say I am an amateur enthusiast who loves taking his camera out every now and then to capture a scene, person or object in a way that is different from the way most of us see things. I am also self-taught and I know that I have a long way to go before I can call myself a professional. However, people say that the journey is more interesting than the destination, and so here you go…welcome to my personal journey into photography.
